Former Global Head of Application Operations at Heidelberg Cement Joins Transcend Packaging as Director of Information Technology

Chris Farmer has joined Transcend Packaging as its new Director of Information Technology. Chris joins Transcend after a successful career of 15 years at Heidelberg Cement, a DAX 30 company where he was the Global Head of Application Operations.

While at Heidelberg, Chris defined the strategy, execution, and management of Heidelberg’s global applications landscape for 60,000 employees across five continents. He achieved great success driving business growth objectives via digital transformation, innovative solution delivery and operational excellence.

Chris joins Transcend at a truly exciting time in its growth journey. He will be responsible for delivering an innovative technology strategy to facilitate Transcend’s vision of becoming the global leader in sustainable packaging. Chris has a passion for leading business change and embedding technology into manufacturing enterprises.

Chris says, “Transcend shares the same passion for digital transformation that I do. There are so many manufacturing businesses that view IT as a cost center, whereas it should be seen as a business co-creator and critical part of a company’s market attack.”

Transcend is driving change in the packaging market through its moves in sustainable alternatives to single-use-packaging and digital print technology to address underserved markets. With Chris joining the Transcend team, his addition will provide an experienced, global IT leader to help guide the direction of the businesses efforts as it builds and enhances its status as a market leader in the sustainable packaging category.

Lorenzo Angelucci, CEO of Transcend Packaging adds: “Building an IT driven, adaptable and advanced manufacturing company is at the core of the change we want to drive in the industry. With Chris on board, we can accelerate IT-enabled innovation to become the benchmark in the industry for agility, quality and change.”
